Privacy Notice – Teacher Hub
We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of all participants in the competition. This notice explains how we collect, use, and store personal information in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data We Collect
When registering teams for the competition, the Teacher Hub will collect and process the following information:
- Students: name, age, year of study, accessibility needs.
- Teachers: name, personal contact details, associated school.
- Schools: name and relevant contact details.
- Teams: team name.
2. Purpose of Processing
The personal data is collected to:
- Register and manage teams entering the competition.
- Enable communication between organisers, teachers, and schools.
- Ensure students receive appropriate support, including accessibility arrangements.
- Administer, promote, and celebrate the competition fairly and effectively.
3. Use of Information
- Not used for marketing/advertising: Contact details (teacher or school) and accessibility needs will only be used for competition administration and ensuring appropriate support. These will never be used for marketing or advertising.
- May be published: School name, team name, student names, and year(s) of study may be published in connection with the competition.
4. Data Storage & Retention
- Personal data is stored securely within the Teacher Hub system.
- Data will be retained for three (3) years following the competition year, after which it will be securely deleted or anonymised unless a longer retention is legally required or deemed to be necessary by the S-RC Cup team.
5. Data Sharing
We may share information only with:
- Authorised members of the competition organising team.
- Partner organisations directly involved in delivering the competition.
- Relevant authorities if legally required.
We will never sell personal data to third parties.
6. Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your data (where applicable and possible).
- Object to or restrict processing.
- Request data portability.
- Withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis.
